Our latest weekly round-up sees us finally get round to featuring a track by the most influential band of all-time

Good day to you folks. And what a day it is: the sun is beaming, the sky is clear and The Beatles are on; what more could you possibly want? Ahhh, to find out what we’ve been up to. Well, OK, if you insist.

This week we’ve mostly been following UEFA Women’s EURO 2017, specifically the proud performances of England’s brilliant Lionesses. They might not have made it to today’s (6 August) final, with seeing the hosts Netherlands tackle Denmark, but their efforts gave England football fans some long overdue hope. Congratulations ladies! Let’s take home the big one in 2019!

Now, though, it’s time for that classic song by that bunch of no-hopers.

Classic Of The Week

‘I Want To Hold Your Hand’ by The Baetles (1963)

If you don’t know this track then there really is something wrong with your record collection. The first song by The Beatles to be made using four-track equipment, this was also the Fab Four’s first US No 1 and started the British invasion of the States. It’s mind boggling to think what the musical landscape would be without this absolute stunner.
