Our latest issue features Gary Numan, Tori Amos, The Waterboys, The Darkness, Starsailor, Shelly Peiken, Nerina Pallot and much more

Songwriting is proud to announce the publication of its Autumn 2017 edition with the electronic music pioneer Gary Numan on the cover. The magazine – aimed at songwriters and at fans of song-led music – serves up another raft of interview features with big name artists and rising stars, songwriting tips and techniques, along with the latest news and reviews of new music and gear.

As well as getting to know Gary, we meet classically trained musician Tori Amos who has always sought alignment with cosmic forces, The Darkness‘ Justin Hawkins talks about his early days writing television jingles and discusses his band’s triumphant new album, and the leader and creative power behind The Waterboys, Mike Scott, talks about his hip hop influences.

Other features include How I Wrote Silence Is Easy by Starsailor‘s James Walsh and How I Wrote Christina Aguilera’s What A Girl Wants by Shelly Peiken, plus Nerina Pallot shows us her #SongwritingSurvivalKit, Elles Bailey reveals her Diary Of A Songwriter and we pick out some wise words from Sodajerker‘s recent songwriting podcast episodes. We also introduce new acts K-Syran, Sarah McGuinness and Charmpit.

In our Technique section, we ask Dr Rob Sheffield to explain the principles of Writing Team Dynamics, the CEO of Sound Royalties, Alex Heiche outlines Seven Things Songwriters Should Know About Royalties, and the author of The Art Of Songwriting, Ed Bell, makes sense of The Creative Process.

This packed edition along with more than 30 issues of Songwriting Magazine are available to subscribers at steadyhq.com
