Country music legend Johnny Cash is to have his ‘American Recordings I-VI’ released next week as a vinyl box set
he man in black, country music hero and songwriting legend Johnny Cash, is to have his American Recordings I-VI released on March 24 as a deluxe vinyl box set. Included within the box set will be seven, yes seven, vinyl records, with Cash’s 2002 album American IV: The Man Comes Around comprising two records. The records were taken from the original masters, with the super producer overseeing the process.
It was Rubin who worked with Cash on the American Recordings, and in doing so he helped Cash to secure a whole new generation of fans. Of the six albums to be featured in the box set four were released during Cash’s life time, with two being released after the songwriter’s death in September 2003.
Johnny Cash has released 55 studio albums and 6 live albums, as well as a phenomenal 165 singles, including his crushing 2003 cover of Nine Inch Nails’ Hurt.
