The 21st annual contest opens to songwriters globally, with a prize fund including radio airplay, $50,000 in cash and merchandise
Since 1995, the USA Songwriting Competition has been honouring songwriters, composers, bands and recording artists everywhere, and has announced that their 21st annual contest is open for entry. The competition is open to all, regardless of nationality or country origin, and the prize fund assigned to the winning entries includes a grand prize of $50,000 in cash and merchandise, radio airplay and more across 15 different categories.
Winners will be selected by a Blue Ribbon committee of music industry professionals, including record label publishers and producers, as well as A&R from Universal Music, Warner, Sony Music and other distinguished professionals. The competition promises to offer a shot at the “big time for songwriters, original solo artists and bands everywhere around the world.”
“We are so excited to win this competition. We entered this competition as unsigned acts, came out as top winner, signed to Island Records and we hit number one on the Billboard Charts!” explained Dave Rublin of American Authors, winner of the 18th Annual USA Songwriting Competition in 2013. American Authors topped the charts and went double platinum, selling over two million copies.
