Beck confirms new album due in October

Much-loved songwriter has announced that he will release his next album this autumn, three years on from his last LP

Beck has announced that the much-anticipated follow-up to 2014s’ Morning Phase, will be released this coming October. Titled Colors, the album will be Beck’s tenth official studio album and is to be released via Capitol on 13 October.

Speaking previously about the record, Beck said that it was: “simple and uplifting and galvanising, where the spirit moves you, that kind of feeling.”

Adding: “this new record I focused on that feeling. It’s the easiest to fail at. Or to come off on one hand disingenuous, or on the other hand just trite, or, you know, there’s that fine line between platitude and just the truth. And that fine line between making a big commotion and a bunch of movement and just actual unadulterated joy.”

Colours has much to live up to, with Morning Phase nominated for five Grammy Awards and winning three of those: Album of the Year, Best Engineered Album, Non-Classical and Best Rock Album.
