The Michigan ‘string specialists’ come out with the new Americana Series Acoustic Guitar for all types of US roots musicians
ew for 2015, Michigan-based GHS has launched the Americana Series Acoustic Guitar, made for all the different styles of American roots music: country, roots-rock, folk, bluegrass, R&B, and blues. The strings have been developed drawing on GHS’ decades of knowledge in string design and construction, materials selection and input from their artist family, to define preferred gauge sizes.
Other features include cryogenic treatment, to extend string life and tone, and the company’s ‘Anti-Corrosion Guarantee’. The Americana Series – Acoustic Guitar – made with cryogenically treated copper-tin-phosphor alloy on a Hex Core are available in either light or medium gauge, and promise to be ‘clear and precise with a pleasant tonal balance and perfectly formed overtones’.
Talking about the new strings, Gold Heart guitarist, Jocey Gold commented: “The first time I tried the Americana Series, I instantly knew they were it! They outlast any set I’ve ever played and the tone quality is right on! Perfect for the studio and live performances.”
Also available in the Americana series are strings for banjo, mandolin, pedal steel guitar and resonator guitar. To find out more about GHS’ entire range, visit: ghsstrings.com
