Indie-rock songwriting star Waxahatchee – AKA Katie Crutchfield – announces a European tour in support of the acclaimed Kurt Vile
s if releasing one of the most hotly anticipated albums of 2015 wasn’t enough, Waxahatchee has announced that she will embark upon a European tour in support of Kurt Vile.
Waxahatchee is the songwriting vehicle for Katie Crutchfield, previously known for her work in the cult indie-rock acts P.S. Eliot and The Ackleys, and Crutchfield recently released the third album in the Waxahatchee canon. Entitled Ivy Tripp, album number three sees Waxahatchee evolving the lo-fi sound that served her so well on albums one and two, by adding greater layers of distortion to the mix. All this adds up to a record that’s more than matched fans’ lofty expectations.
Kurt Vile was noted for his work as part of the indie-rock group The War on Drugs, before embarking upon an acclaimed solo career – with his 2013 album Wakin On A Pretty Daze featuring at the top of many end of year ‘best of’ lists.
