Paul McCartney has revealed that he will embark on a U.K. and European tour starting in May of this year
n news that will no doubt delight his UK and Europe based fans, Paul McCartney has confirmed that he will embark on a nine date tour starting this May. Beginning on Saturday May 23rd, McCartney’s opening performance is at London’s O2 Arena and sees the former Beatle playing his first UK gig since 2015. The London show coincides with the 50th anniversary of the release of The Beatles’ Yesterday, though McCartney advised that this was a fact that had passed him by,
“I’m often never aware of these anniversaries until someone points it out. People always say to me ‘Hey, did you know it was 30 years since this and 30 years since that’, so it’s impossible to stay on top of it all. But I never need an excuse to celebrate so it’s always nice to hear! For me it’s a happy coincidence that The O2 show falls at this time.”
McCartney plays a further two dates in the UK, playing Birmingham and his Liverpool hometown, before heading off to Marseille, Amsterdam, Paris, Roskilde festival and Oslo, before rounding up on Thursday July 9th at Stockholm’s Tele2 Arena.
