Phenomenally successful film score composer said he was starstruck when working with Radiohead’s Jonny Greenwood on ‘Blue Planet II’ soundtrack

He’s composed the music for more than 150 films, including the Pirates of the Caribbean series, The Thin Red Line, Gladiator, The Dark Knight Trilogy, Dunkirk, and Blade Runner 2049. However, even Hans Zimmer admits to being “starstruck” by Radiohead‘s Jonny Greenwood.

Zimmer recently worked with Radiohead on the soundtrack to Blue Planet II, with the band and film score composer reworking Bloom – the opening track to Radiohead’s 2011 album, The King of Limbs.

Speaking to CBC Radio about the experience, Zimmer said: “Oh, I’ll just admit it, I was a bit starstruck. He is my favourite film composer.”

Zimmer went on to say that he was worried he would, “mess up their song because they’re not just anybody.”
