Frontman Steven Tyler confirms that the rock legends will call time on their near 50 year music career next year
They’re one of the best known rock groups of all time and have been responsible for some of the most recognisable songs from the genre. Soon, though, Aerosmith will be no more, after frontman Steven Tyler confirmed that the band will embark on a farewell tour next year.
Speaking during an appearance on Howard Stern’s radio show, Tyler said: “We’re doing a farewell tour, but only because it’s time. I love this band, I really do, and I want to squash every thought that anybody might have about this … Look, there’s two bands that still have the original members, us and the Stones. I’m grateful for that.”
Aerosmith formed in Boston, Massachusetts, U.S. in 1970. They released their self-titled debut album three years later and have gone on to release 15 studio albums in total. They are the best selling U.S. rock band of all time, with over 150 million records sold worldwide.
