Brit Awards 2015
Brit Awards 2015

Is it that time again? Of course.

This year’s Brit Awards throws up another slew of winners. But which artists will be standing on the podium tonight?

s it that time again? Of course. The 2015 Brits’ have rolled up and have gifted awards to another slew of worthy artists. Last year saw Arctic Monkey’s, Ellie Goulding and David Bowie claiming the major awards, with Sheffield’s finest claiming both the best British Group and Album awards, the sublime Goulding taking home the British Female Solo Artist Award and the thin white duke named the British Male Solo Artist – naturally.

This year saw a new batch of champions, with Ed Sheeran and Sam Smith big among the awards. Paloma Faith was named the British Female Solo Artist, beating competition from Jessie Ware, Lily Allen and Songwriting favourite FKA Twigs. The International Female Solo Artist award was taken by the sublime and ubiquitous Taylor Swift, with honourable mention going to Lana Del Rey, Sia, St Vincent and Beyoncé. Indie-rock darlings Alt-J were beaten to the best British group by Royal Blood, while the British Male Solo Artist Award pulled no surprises by naming Ed Sheeran as its champion. The Critics Choice Award named the least surprising winner, by virtue of the previously announced James Bay. Global success and British Breakthrough Act went to the Grammy gobbling Sam Smith, with Pharell Williams matching his US cohort Taylor Swift by taking home the International Male Solo Artist. Foo Fighters were winners of the International Group Award, with the obscenely catchy Bruno Mars featured Uptown Funk giving Mark Ronson the British Single. The Mastercard British Album Of The Year was Ed Sheeran’s X, British Producer Of The Year was Paul Epworth and One Direction won the British Artist Video Of The Year for You & I.
