This week’s Monday track exclusive comes from Ryan Shupe, an accomplished bluegrass artist who’s now moving into poppier, rockier territory
For your Monday exclusive this week, we have a slice of uptempo guitar pop from Ryan Shupe. Backed by his Rubber Band, Shupe’s better known for his rock ‘n’ roll and bluegrass stylings, but this track – taken from the forthcoming album We Rode On – marks something of a shift in musical direction.
Ryan Shupe has been touring the United States as a musician since he was 10 years old – he comes from a musical family and is a fifth-generation fiddler, as well as a skilled guitarist and mandolin player. And this multi-instrumentalist is very much the man in charge of his band’s output: the new album was recorded and arranged in his own studio in Provo, Utah.
“I wanted to create a new sound and an evolution for the band’s music” said Shupe, “It’s the best album we’ve done and definitely the most rocking!”
