The annual music trade show NAMM returns this month. Here are some exciting guitars debuting ahead of this year’s show

Out of the many guitar manufacturers releasing new products in the run-up to NAMM 2019, Ibanez stands out due to the sheer number of guitars (over 40) across two series tantalising guitar players worldwide. Here’s a brief breakdown of the sleek, new models.

Firstly, there’s the Axion Label which is split into three categories: the RGA, the RGD and the S lines. The guitars feature tremolo or fixed bridges and come in a rage of finishes that will appeal to all types of metal guitar players. Ibanez has also added 11 models to its signature series. All guitars are based on their famous AZ series and includes the Joe Satriani JS1CR, the Steve Vai JEM7VP and Paul Gilbert’s PGMM21. While Polyphia’s Timothy Henson and Scott LePage plus Chon’s Mario Camarena and Erick Hansel receive their first signature guitars.

Epiphone’s first new model of 2019 will be a take on the 1970’s Del Rey Double Cut. The DC Pro comes in five different finishes: Black Cherry, Faded Cherry Burst, Midnight Ebony, Mojave Fade and Wild Ivy, and features coil-tap ProBucker humbuckers.

NAMM 2019 is on 24-27 January at the Anaheim Convention Centre, Anaheim, California. For ticket information visit the official NAMM website: namm.org/thenammshow/2019
