Collaborating with Manson Guitar Works, the instrument manufacturer releases a Red Sparkle version of the Muse frontman’s signature model guitar
In 2015, Cort teamed up with Manson Guitar Works and musician Matthew Bellamy, the frontman and lead guitarist of Muse, to develop the Cort MBC-1 Matt Bellamy Signature Model electric guitar. The MBC-1 was built to replicate Bellamy’s custom-made Manson guitar, down to the Matte Black finish. Now, the MBC-1 is available in Red Sparkle, another signature Bellamy look that features a bright red base coat with holoflake finish.
Manson developed special pickups for the MBC-1 model based on more than two decades of experience working with Bellamy. The versatile setup includes a fully voiced humbucker in the bridge and a true single coil neck pickup that reflects his stage and studio custom guitars. The MBC-1 features a single-volume control, master tone, and three-way switch that controls the humbucker/single coil pickup combination, together with a discreet kill button.
An adjustable tune-o-matic style bridge and stop tailpiece anchor the basswood body. The single-cutaway instrument features a bolt-on, hard maple neck with a 22-fret rosewood fingerboard and 25.5-inch scale length. On the headstock, the MBC-1 is equipped with die-cast locking tuners, and chrome hardware completes the look.
The MBC1-RS is available at a suggested retail price of £569. For more information, visit the manufacturer’s website: cortguitars.com
