Arturia Piano V

The French manufacturer delivers a virtual instrument modelling nine different acoustic pianos, including classical upright, concert grand and pop grand

French music software and hardware developer, Arturia has announced availability of Piano V — recreating the sound and behaviour of one of the most important instruments in history. The plugin offers physical modelling of nine different acoustic pianos types rolled into one virtual instrument: Classical Upright, Concert Grand, Glass Grand, Intimate Grand, Jazz Upright, Metal Grand, Piano-bar Upright, Pop Grand, and Pop Upright.

Users can combine components into variations and alter a range of tone-shaping parameters, such as the composition of the hammers and their position to the type of piano and its condition, the number and placement of microphones, and the size of the room housing the piano can all be changed. Access is via the resizable (Retina/4K-compatible) graphical user interface.

On Mac OS X and Windows, Piano V performs as an AAX-, AU-, VST-, and VST3-compatible plugin in any DAW with MIDI Learn functionality to map all parameters to a MIDI CC (Control Change) or as a standalone version. Native Instruments’ new NKS (Native Kontrol Standard) allows integration with third-party software instruments.

Arturia’s Piano V is available to purchase as a boxed version or online as a download for €199/$199 (approx. £153). For more in-depth information, visit: arturia.com
