Edwin Collins: In The Round at The Roundhouse will be his first London headline show since June 2014

Edwyn Collins, Gaz Coombes, John Cale and more to play ‘In the Round’ – an intimate concert series at London’s Roundhouse

London’s iconic venue, The Roundhouse kicks off its 2016 music programme with a new series of intimate performances staged in the round. With a limited number of tickets available, In the Round will be a unique opportunity to see some leading artists perform up close, in a rarely seen fully seated concert set-up within the venue’s Main Space.

The series opens with a solo performance from the Mercury Prize nominated singer-songwriter Gaz Coombes, followed on 29 January by Scottish musician, producer and record label owner, Edwyn Collins playing his first London headline show since June 2014. On 30 January, Spacebomb record label and studio founder Matthew E White performs from his acclaimed albums, Big Inner, Outer Face and Fresh Blood.

The 31 January show features Irish, musician, singer and actress Camille O’Sullivan, while 1 February sees cult figure Mulatu Astatke perform a fusion of traditional Ethiopian styles with jazz. Iconic singer, songwriter and actress Marianne Faithfull performs on 2 February and then The Velvet Underground founding member John Cale takes to the stage on 3 February.

In a rare performance, London poet and singer, Keaton Henson will perform material from his albums Dear, Birthdays and Romantic Works on 4 February. Then on 5 February, Scritti Politti play their first headline London show in almost three years. The final show on 6 February, sees multi-award winning Malian singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Rokia Traoré, airing material from her sixth album, Né So.
