Ultimate Seminar: “Year-on-year we see the success stories rising and the passion that young creatives have…”

Music conference takes place at Westminster university on 24 November, with talks and discussions involving leading songwriters, managers and execs

Saturday 24 November sees the free music industry conference, Ultimate Seminar, take place at the University of Westminster in London. Now in its ninth consecutive year, the event is organised by Cre8ing Vision and offers attendees education in all aspects of the business, from managing talent to making it as an artist. Newly confirmed speakers for this year’s seminar include in-demand pop songwriter Kamille, Kingston-born dancehall trailblazer Alicai Harley, and Capital XTRA’s Manny Norte.

Kamille, aka Camille Purcell, will be sharing her experience of quitting her job as a stockbroker to pen global hits for the likes of Rihanna and Little Mix and release tracks with artists such as Kranium and Gorgon City. Meanwhile, talking artistic control and opportunities will be Manny Norte, one of the most respected figures on the urban music scene, and rising star Alicai Harley.

From music managers like Lateral MGMT’s Jamie Binns and Since ‘93’s Riki Bleau, to leading executives such as Warner/Chappell A&R Director, Amber Davis, and PRS Head of Writer Relations, Simon Aldridge, the newly announced speakers will take part in a day of talks and panels that address the rapidly changing landscape of the music industry and how to succeed in it.

The second wave speakers join the likes of RCA’s David Dollimore, Virgin EMI’s Rob Pascoe, Grammy and Ivor Novello-winning songwriter Cass Lowe and singer and songwriter Etta Bond to help empower and mobilise young creatives to take the steps towards fulfilling their musical aspirations.

“For us, The Ultimate Seminar is a beautifully cyclical event – those that sit in the audience to learn are often those that are sat on a panel a couple of years later recounting what they learnt,” commented Cre8ing Vision founders Kwame Kwaten, Nicola Charles and Andrea Euell. “Year-on-year we see the success stories rising and the passion that young creatives have, and it’s these people who inspire us to keep going and provide a seminar that is free and accessible to all.”

The Ultimate Seminar takes place at the University of Westminster on Saturday 24 November 2018, kicking off at 9:30am and running till 7:00pm. The venue can be found at Westminster Law School Campus, 4-12 Little Titchfield Street, London, W1W 7BY. It’s free to attend, but it is advised to register online in advance at cre8ingvision.com/events/ultimate-seminar-2018/
