Working with Shure, Focusrite and Taylor Guitars, the Institute of Contemporary Music Performance is offering a very impressive songwriting scholarship
This month marks the announcement of a very special opportunity for you talented songwriters out there, after the Institute Contemporary Music Performance revealed they’re offering the chance to win a full scholarship for their Certificate of Higher Education for Songwriting course.
The scholarship sees the ICMP, in partnership with Shure, Focusrite and Taylor Guitars and is worth more than £6,000. In addition to this the winner will also receive a Shure SM58 microphone, Focusrite Scarlett Studio kit and a BT2 Baby Taylor Guitar among other prizes.
Entry to the course will see the winner given help to develop their lyric writing, song form, song structure, and harmony and music theory. Alongside this, the course gives the winner the chance to take part in regular live showcase events and gain access to leading professionals within the music industry.
In order to apply for the scholarship you will need to complete an application, send a cover letter explaining why you wish to study at the the ICMP and send a video that shows your songwriting skills. The closing date for submitting your application is 1 June. Details about the scholarship can be found on the ICMP’s site.
If you do study at the ICMP then you’ll be in good company, with Radiohead guitarist Ed O’Brien, Paloma Faith bassist Andrea Goldsworthy and RnB artist Loick Essien among the IMCP’s alumni.
