The Welsh rockers play at Meltdown Festival next month and the band treat fans to a new song and video

Welsh alternative rock band, The Joy Formidable will be playing headline shows at The Lexington, London and Clwb Ifor Bach, Cardiff, on 22 and 23 August, before making main stage appearances at Reading & Leeds Festivals. Meanwhile, play at Meltdown Festival in June and the band recently released a new song, Dance Of The Lotus, taken from the upcoming album – its release date is yet to be announced.

Of the new single, lead singer Ritzy Bryan said: “We wanted to share this album track with the people who have supported us to give them a glimpse of what we’ve been working on, and this track is right at the heart of our new record.”

“It’s magical and lonely, like a night-time walk in the desert when you’re trying to escape from yourself and the chaos you’ve created,” continues Bryan. “We’ve definitely made a colourful, mystical collage with this record, partly because of our surroundings. Those multi-coloured sunsets and the primeval elements of nature in the southwest – it’s emboldened our imaginations in the songwriting and the production.”

The new album was recorded while the band were touring the world in their mobile recording studio, with inspiration coming from the canyons of Utah and Arizona, and, of course, the mysterious hills of Wales.
