Legendary Scottish act The Jesus And Mary Chain are recording what will be their first new album in 17 years
It’s taken nearly two decades and spanned three, but the seminal Scottish alt-rock band The Jesus And Mary Chain have finally begun work on their seventh studio album – the follow-up to their 1998 LP Munki.
When speaking to Time Out New York, singer Jim Reid said: “We’re doing an album now. We actually just started recording.” The band have yet to reveal a working-title for the record, though, fans will no doubt be pleased just to know that that there will be a new Jesus And Mary Chain album.
Released in the same year that Google was founded, Munki was the bands first studio album that failed to reach the Top 40, peaking at No 47 in the UK Album Chart. 2015 has been a landmark year for The Jesus And Mary Chain, with their debut album Psychocandy celebrating its’ 30 year anniversary this coming November.
