Stars come out for 24-hour climate change telecast

It’s like Live Aid, but with more “model and climate activist” types talking about the oceans. And no Status Quo.

Elton John, Mumford & Sons, Florence & The Machine, Joss Stone, Pharrell and many more appear on Al Gore’s ‘Live Earth’ today

Taking place even as we type this, Live Earth is a 24-hour live telecast helmed by former US Vice-President Al Gore and seeking to draw attention to issues around climate change. You can watch the telecast, which is being beamed live from eight cities around the world, at the Climate Reality Project website.

And you might to, even if climate change isn’t at the top of your personal political agenda, because an impressive number of high-profile artists are scheduled to play live over the course of the 24-hour broadcast. Pharrell, Elton John, Fall Out Boy, Hozier, Mumford & Sons, Neil Young, Walk The Moon, Bon Jovi, Joss Stone & Dave Stewart, Thirty Seconds To Mars, Vance Joy, Florence & The Machine, Duran Duran and Laura Pausini are all on the bill, and who knows if there won’t be a few surprises along the way?
