The Brit Award nominated singer Rumer will release an album of Burt Bacharach and Hal David covers this coming October
It sounds like a musical unison made in heaven: the golden throated Rumer sings the songs of Burt Bacharach and Hal David. This autumn gives you an opportunity to find out, after Rumer revealed she’ll be releasing an album of Bacharach and David covers.
“I couldn’t have made this album five years ago,” admits Rumer. “I think I’ve now got a wide enough emotional palette to draw on for these songs’ characters and stories. That kind of insight only comes as you get older.”
Entitled This Girl’s In Love: A Bacharach And David Songbook, the album will be available from 21 October on East West/Warner Music and features an appearance by Bacharach himself on piano.
It’s not the first time that Rumer has worked with Bacharach, with the two having come together initially in 2010 when Bacharach invited Rumer to his home to hear her sing. It was a fruitful audition because, just two years later, she performed for Barack Obama as part of a Bacharach & David tribute held at The White House.
We’ve been big fans of Rumer for some time now and can’t wait to hear what This Girl’s In Love: A Bacharach And David Songbook sounds like. Here’s a taster…
