The gifted young songwriter will team up with his brother Jack to bring the “multi-disciplinary volume of work” to life

King Krule burst onto the music scene in 2013 by releasing one of the year’s most hotly anticipated LPs before he had even left his teens. Now he returns with his latest album, though, it will be a little different to his last.

For a start the record, entitled A New Place 2 Drown, will be released under his real name, Archy Marshall. In addition to that his new record will also be released with a book and a short film, with Marshall’s brother Jack working on the project too.

The project is described in a press release as: “‘A multi-disciplinary volume of work from brothers Jack and Archy Marshall, comprising a book, album and short film. The book of poetry and artwork, published by TOPSAFE, invites readers into the brothers’ social/everyday lives in South London. Also to be experienced in conjunction with the book is a 37-minute soundtrack of brand new music from Archy. The entire project is then tied together by a short film by Will Robson-Scott, which incorporates elements of both the book and the soundtrack.”

A New Place 2 Drown is released through True Panther / XL next week (10 December) and the album tracklist is as follows:

Any God of Yours
Swell
Arise Dear Brother
Ammi Ammi
Buffed Sky
Sex With Nobody
Eye’s Drift
The Sea Liner MK 1
Empty Vessels
New Builds
Dull Boys
Thames Water
