You can buy ‘Mother Love Bone: On Earth As It Is’ this autumn

Seattle grunge and alt-rock pioneers will have their career commemorated by release of a collection on both CD/DVD and vinyl

Before the multi-platinum successes of Pearl Jam and Temple Of The Dog, there was Mother Love Bone and their effervescent frontman Andrew Wood. Now fans of Mother Love Bone will be able to revisit the band’s brilliance, with the release of a career covering reissue.

Released on 4 November 2016, Mother Love Bone: On Earth As It Is comes in a two package option, with fans of the Seattle quintet able to purchase the collection in either a CD/DVD or vinyl format.

The CD/DVD option includes:

A remastered version of the band’s sole LP Apple and debut EP Shine on one disc.
A disc of more than 20 rare B-sides, demos, alternate versions, and unreleased songs including Andrew Wood’s demo recording of Chloe Dancer and a live version of Stardog Champion featuring Chris Cornell and Pearl Jam.
The Love Bone Earth Affair DVD, featuring rare unseen live Mother Love Bone performances.
A 24 page booklet with lyrics, credits and photos.

The vinyl option comes with the same goodies as the CD/DVD format, along with these additional treats:

A 12″ x 12″ Envelope containing photo prints, 24 page zine, fold out poster, stencil and more.
A very limited number of randomly selected vinyl box set packages will include a rare Happy Holidays greeting card signed by each member of Mother Love Bone. These cards were uncovered from the Mother Love Bone/Love Co. deep archives.

Both the CD/DVD and vinyl sets come packaged in artwork that replicate a Mother Love Bone mural that was painted on Seattle nightclub, The Vogue. The wall mural was repainted by Jeff Ament on the side of West Seattle’s Easy Street Records in May of 2016.

Mother Love Bone were formed in Seattle, Washington in 1988. The band featured bassist Jeff Ament, guitarists Bruce Fairweather and Stone Gossard, drummer Greg Gilmore and vocalist/pianist frontman Andrew Wood. The band released their debut EP Shine in 1989 and their maiden LP Apple in 1990, with the later released after the death of Wood on 19 March 1990.
