Morrissey: backed by his full live band, each performance promises to be an intimate occasion
The Smiths singer has set the release date for his 11th long-player ‘Low In High School’ and confirmed tour dates
Morrissey has revealed a full US tour in support of his new studio album Low In High School, due out on 17 November through Etienne/BMG. Backed by his full live band, each performance promises to be an intimate occasion where Morrissey will perform many of his well known fan favourites as well as new material from his new album, including lead single Spent The Day In Bed.
Earlier this month, Morrissey made national headlines surrounding the announcement that he will be making his long awaited return to the Hollywood Bowl on Friday 10 November. The show sold out almost instantly on the first day of the onsale, and a second date on Saturday 11 November has been added. Billy Idol will be the special guest at both dates.
Low In High School, his 11th studio album, was produced by Joe Chiccarelli (Frank Zappa, The Strokes, Beck, The White Stripes) and recorded at La Fabrique Studios in France and Ennio Morricone’s Forum Studios in Rome. The record will be available on multiple digital and physical formats, including MFiT, MQS, CD, LP, and cassette, with limited vinyl formats and bundles available via the Mporium. Options include different coloured vinyl with lyrics and sleeve notes in French (blue), Spanish (transparent orange), and Japanese (transparent yellow). The Mporium will also stock a limited edition seven-inch box set with clear vinyl.
In addition to selling out one night at Los Angeles’ iconic Hollywood Bowl with a second show announced, Morrissey will tour in support of Low In High School, where he will perform many of his beloved classics as well as songs from the new LP. Cities his tour will visit include: New York, Washington, Philadelphia, Chicago, Denver, Salt Lake City, Phoenix, Detroit, San Francisco, Seattle, Boston, St. Louis, Paso Robles and Portland.
The Low In High School track list is as follows:
- My Love, I’d Do Anything for You
- I Wish You Lonely
- Jacky’s Only Happy When She’s Up on the Stage
- Home Is a Question Mark
- Spent the Day in Bed

Additionally, on 20 October, a special five-LP box set deluxe version of The Smiths’ The Queen Is Dead will be released to celebrate what is perhaps the band’s most iconic album.
