Joni Mitchell is said to be making good progress after her stroke

The star’s attorney tells a US court that she’s making a good recovery from the stroke she had in March

oni Mitchell’s attorney Rebecca J Thyne has told a US court that the folk star is “expected to make a full recovery”. The news will no doubt offer some relief to Mitchell fans who have been anxious since long-term friend David Crosby told Huffington Post last month that she still wasn’t speaking.

Thyne made her declaration in court documents relating to the management of Mitchell’s affairs while she is recovering from the stroke and brain aneurysm that struck her down at the end of March. In the papers, she describes a visit to Mitchell’s home on 26 June: “When I arrived she was seated at her kitchen table feeding herself lunch. She also told me that she receives excellent care from caregivers round-the-clock. It was clear that she was happy to be home and that she has made remarkable progress.”
