Slim Shady’s phenomenally successful second album is set to be re-released on cassette, to the delight of the rapper’s fans
It’s been seventeen years since Eminem released his breakthrough second album and began the transition from being a noted rap artist to becoming the best-selling artist of the 2000s in the United States. Now he has announced that The Slim Shady LP will be re-released on cassette.
Shady made the announcement via Twitter as Marshall Mathers, tweeting: “#SSLP Cassette re-issue coming soon http://shady.sr/SSLP.” Following the link directs fans to a website that
offers them chance to get more information about the release, as well as exclusive merchandise.
The Slim Shady LP peaked at No 12 on the UK Albums Chart and No 2 on the US Billboard 200 and featured Eminem’s break out single My Name Is. My Name Is made it to No 2 on the UK Singles Chart and No 36 on the Billboard Hot 100, and was ranked No 26 on VH1’s “100 Greatest Songs of the 90’s.”
