‘The Hour Between Dog And Wolf’ by BarCreeps (Single)

Promising times lie ahead for this energetic, boisterous quartet

A quartet borne from the four corners of the world combine to create a familiar sound on their debut single

Straight away it’s clear what this London-based four piece are bringing to the table. With a sound rooted in skate-punk, their debut single The Hour Between Dog And Wolf provides all the best elements of Teenage Bottlerocket.

The band has an interesting back story: bassist Railgrind was a former member of The Pipettes and has toured the world with The Beastie Boys, while guitarist Hendricks was responsible for putting on Refugee Rock, a gig that raised over £3,000 for the immigrants of the Calais jungle.

Lyrically the song talks of “the impossibility of a world view”. The sentiment here is a lack of belief that world peace will ever be achieved – a heavy topic that doesn’t compromise the catchy, melodic structure of the song.

Promising times lie ahead for this energetic, boisterous quartet, and if their debut album delivers more of the same then fans of mid-90s punk should definitely take note.
