The Stones, Dylan, McCartney, Young, Waters and The Who set to play across one weekend festival in California this October
Rumours of a US ‘mega-festival’ have now been confirmed by the organisers, who have announced Desert Trip featuring The Rolling Stones, Bob Dylan, Paul McCartney, Roger Waters, Neil Young and The Who. Taking place over three days, on 7-9 October 2016, the event will held at Indio, California’s Empire Polo Club, which is the same site as Coachella.
The Stones will open the show before Dylan and his band play on the Friday, McCartney will be followed by Young and his backing band Promise Of The Real on the Saturday, and the former Pink Floyd singer-songwriter Roger Waters will play on Sunday before The Who close the festival later that day. Neil Young’s manager Elliot Roberts reportedly told The LA Times that, “You won’t get a chance to see a bill like this, perhaps ever again.”
Desert Trip tickets are on sale now with several admission options. Entrance to the venue with a single day pass starts at $199 (approx. £137) plus fees, but goes up to $1,599 (approx. £1,102) for three-day standing pit admission and reserved seating.
