Learn To Play Day: the chance for anyone to take part in a free instrument lesson

Two days of free musical instrument lessons will be taking place at over 120 venues across the UK in June

Music for All’s national Learn To Play Day returns for the sixth successive year on Saturday 24 and Sunday 25 June 2017 at over 120 venues. The UK-wide event will offer the general public the chance to take part in free ‘taster’ lessons on a musical instrument.

Over the weekend of the 2016 event, more than 12,000 free instrument lessons were delivered at a range of venues including music shops, schools and churches throughout the UK. On the day, people who have never played, people who used to play and people who wanted to try an alternative instrument all came to learn.

The charity is supported by patron Jools Holland along with a number of other high-profile ambassadors including Gareth Malone, Evelyn Glennie, Pink Floyd’s Nick Mason, Rodrigo y Gabriela, Rick Wakeman, Al Murray, Rick Astley and Howard Jones.

Full details of the event, including participating venues and local appearances, will be found at learntoplayday.com and facebook.com/learntoplayday over the coming months. To find out more about the charity, Music for All, go to musicforall.org.uk or facebook.com/musicforallcharity

I was interested in the Learn To Play Day.
    The heading says 120 venues.
All I can find is a map with 14 venues on it and nothing in my city Birmingham!
