Lennon Bus kicks off its 18th year with funk legend George Clinton and songwriting contest winners at US music conference

on-profit mobile pro-audio and video recording studio, John Lennon Educational Tour Bus (Lennon Bus) makes its return to the 2015 NAMM Show next week, at the Anaheim Convention Centre. During the four-day conference, tours of the Lennon Bus will provide an exclusive look at its latest audio and video technology, as well as mentoring sessions, demos, live performances and promotional giveaways with $14,000 worth of gear from OWC, Epiphone, Yamaha, ZVEX, Mackie, Neutrik, Audio-Technica, Musician’s Friend, and IK Multimedia.

On Wednesday 21 January, George Clinton, the legendary founder of funk, will be on-hand as a guest songwriting mentor to work with students from Berklee College’s Berklee City Music Network. The session will be live streamed from 2–3pm PST on www.lennonbus.org/live. During the livestream, viewers can submit their questions for Clinton using the hashtag #FunkWithGeorge.

Friday 23 January will see live performances by John Lennon Songwriting Contest ‘Song Of The Year’ winners Helen Austin & Paul Otten who will open the show with their song Colour It performed with local Anaheim students. Live performances on Saturday 24 January include John Lennon Songwriting Contest’s NAMM winners Gene Evaro Jr. & The Family and Royal Tongues.

Now in its 18th year of touring, the Lennon Bus concept began as an offshoot of the John Lennon Songwriting Contest, dedicated to providing opportunities for both professional and amateur songwriters around the world.
