The Grammy Award-winning singer-songwriter is back with ‘Green Light’ and reveals her second LP titled ‘Melodrama’ is due this summer
Today saw the chart-dominating New Zealander Lorde return with a new single, Green Light, produced by the singer with Jack Antonoff and Frank Dukes. The release of the track and accompanying video coincided with the news that Melodrama, her second full-length album and follow-up to triple-platinum Pure Heroine, due this summer.
In 2013, the 16-year-old Lorde burst onto the scene when her debut album went on to win two Grammy Awards and spawn the seven-times platinum record-breaking juggernaut single, Royals, which made her the youngest solo artist and the only New Zealander to achieve No 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 since 1987.
iHeartMedia premiered the single today on more than 125 broadcast radio stations across the US and, at the same time, Lorde’s first interview about the new song was conducted live with Zane Lowe on his Apple Music Beats 1 radio show. She is also set to perform Green Light on Saturday Night Live on 11 March and has been confirmed to appear at a number of festivals later this year, including Coachella and Bonnaroo.
