Entrance to Glastonbury Festival’s annual emerging talent competition opens tomorrow and it offers the winner a heck of a prize
To play on one of the main stages at one of the world’s most prestigious festivals is the dream of any aspiring songwriter, and from 9am tomorrow (18 January) until 5pm on the 25 January the entrance to Glastonbury Festival’s annual emerging talent competition is open here.
In addition to performing at the festival the competition winner will also receive £5,000 to help towards forging a career in songwriting, as well as a £2,500 Talent Development prize from PRS for Music Foundation.
Entrance is open to UK and Ireland-based acts of any musical genre and in order to enter you just need to send a link to an original song on Soundcloud and a video of yourself or your band performing live.
Past winners of the competition include Stornoway, Scouting For Girls, Treetop Flyers, the Golden Silvers, Ellen and the Escapades, The Subways, Bridie Jackson and the Arbour, M+A and last year’s winner Declan Mckenna.
