Queen guitarist Brian May reveals film depicting life of the band’s frontman is expected to finally be released in 2018

It’s been the subject of rumour for years, with actors such as Daniel Radcliffe and Sacha Baron Cohen having been put forward as candidates to fill the role of the film’s subject. Now, though, it seems that the Freddie Mercury biopic is finally due to be released next year.

The announcement came from Queen’s guitarist Brian May. Speaking to The Daily Star, May said: “The Freddie film is coming … sooner than you might think, next year.”

That’s not the only news to excite Queen fans, though. Having recently announced that they will soon be releasing a special, themed, version of Monopoly, it’s been hinted that Queen could be set to head out on tour with Adam Lambert.

Lambert had this to say: “There is potentially more work with Queen.” Continuing: “There is a lot of talk and a lot exciting stuff to discuss next year. I’m not ready to make announcements yet but there’s a lot on the cards.”
