The first official image taken from the Brett Morgan directed Kurt Cobain film ‘Cobain: Montage of Heck’ has been released
he first official image – which can be seen above – to be taken from Cobain: Montage of Heck has been released, tying in with the films premiere at this week’s Sundance Film Festival in Utah.
Directed by the Academy Award nominated Brett Morgen, who was the man behind the 2012 Rolling Stone’s documentary Crossfire Hurricane, the film is the first fully authorised documentary of the Nirvana songwriter, with the press release stating “this first ever, fully-authorised doc feature blends Cobain’s personal archive of art, music, written word, and never-before-seen home movies, with animation and revelatory interviews from his family and closest confidantes.” Cobain’s daughter Frances Bean is listed an as executive producer to the project.
Alongside Cobain: Montage of Heck will be released a book of the same title, which is to include exclusive interviews featured in the film, a contribution from Morgen, rare photographs, animation stills, and a raft of images taken from Cobain’s personal collection.
