Fancy yourself as the next blues star?

If you’re a blues artist or band looking for a record label then this competition might be just the ticket

he Blues Magazine, Mascot Label Group and The Big Easy restaurant are offering a blues artist or band, the chance to win a record deal with Mascot Label Group. The lucky winner will spend 4 days in a recording studio of the labels choice, with additional days to mix and master the recordings.

Having housed blues legends such as Joe Bonamassa, Gov’t Mule, Walter Trout, Robert Cray, Beth Hart, Matt Scofield and Jonny Lang, you’ll be joining a label that has a reputation for excellence in the field. It’s not just a record deal on offer though, as the winning artist will perform at the opening of the new Big Easy in Canary Wharf, London, as well as receiving coverage in The Blues.

Sound interesting? We thought so, and here’s how you can enter. You must be an EU resident aged 18 or over and have neither a previous nor existing contract with a record label, which includes independent as well as major labels. You will then need to email a link to a YouTube video of a recent live performance, which must include at least two original songs but can also include an additional cover song, to futureofblues@teamrock.com by the closing date of March 2 2015. The entrants will then be narrowed down to five winners, with these confirmed on March 5. The winner will then perform a gig at The Future Of The Blues finale event at The Big Easy in Covent Garden shortly after they have been confirmed. Entries are limited to one per person.

If you are selected to compete in the final then you must cover all travel and accommodation costs. The full terms and conditions can be found here.
