Fans have been waiting several years for the girls to share their first official single and they will not be disappointed with this Carly Pearce-tinged track. It has an insanely catchy chorus combined with a pop-tinged production and guitar-led country sounds. It is a truly wonderful song that has the potential to put The Adelaides on the map as one of Britain’s most exciting acts. LK

It’s no surprise to learn that James Rose has previously lived in the UK as there’s a distinct Beatles vibe to this Californian songwriter’s new single. Its message of peace and understanding only adds to that feel and a little West Coast warmth finishes things off nicely. DH

The Irish country/pop/rock group’s official single edit and title track of their latest sophomore LP has been given a slick makeover and the results are brilliant. It has a real anthemic vibe and lyrically it tells the story of being strong enough to move on in a situation; many people will relate. The Rising are an exciting group and with this release, they have set a real marker. LK

HD HAUSMANN
RECOGNISE FACES
Panda Cassettes
A tranquil wash colours the first single from HD Hausmann’s forthcoming second album. Liam Palmer’s vocals still retain hints of Tom Waits but, rather than stalk the listener, they add to the song’s feel of calm when buried a little deeper into the mix. DH
