EXCLUSIVE! ‘Another Lifetime’ by Dhanya

Our latest exclusive comes courtesy of the daughter of two-time Latin Grammy-winner Ilan Chester; she’s the brilliant Venezuelan songwriter, Dhanya

Some songwriters are blessed with a musical heritage and US based, Venezuelan raised, Dhanya is one such artist. Her father is two-time Latin Grammy-winner, Ilan Chester and he made sure she was singing harmonies to Beatles songs and playing pianno before she could walk.

She’s been kind enough to give us exclusive access to today’s exclusive song, Another Lifetime (ft. MC Yogi), and of the track she says: “Sometimes I feel my age, 28, sometimes it’s like I’m a 5 year old, and no matter how hard you work on your issues, they crop up again. It got me thinking about how maybe some things have been carried over from previous lifetimes and can’t be pinpointed from a finite perspective.”

Continuing: “When I went to Point Reyes to finish up work on the album, we happened to be in the same town at the same time as MC Yogi. We got in the studio and we’re jamming to the original version of Another Lifetime, and being the phenomenal MC he is, he wrote those rhymes in a matter of minutes and blew us all away.”

She’s been compared to Bjork, Ibeye, Massive Attack, Portishead, and Jai Uttal. Listen below and decide how accurate those claims are…
