Hofner releases pair of Ignition basses
The iconic violin bass maker announces two new Ignition guitars – the Black Club and the Sunburst ‘Cavern’ Violin models
Distributor Barnes & Mullins has announced the release of two new Hofner Ignition bass guitars in the UK – the Black Club and Sunburst ‘Cavern’ Violin models. The Ignition series was designed to offer players the authentic Hofner experience and sound at a more affordable price than their handmade German models and contemporary ranges.
Both new Ignition basses have fully hollow bodies and feature spruce tops and flamed maple back and sides with a high-gloss finish. They are fitted with Hofner’s famous control panel and 70s-style Ignition Staple Nickel pickups. Due to their hollow body construction, both instruments have shorter 76cm scale lengths, 42mm nut widths and rosewood fingerboards. The iconic ‘Cavern’ Violin model features closely spaced pickups, as used on the original 1961 Cavern bass.
Retailing at £359 each, the Ignition Club and Ignition ‘Cavern’ Violin basses are available now. Find out more at hofner-guitars.com
