UKSC judge Shelly Peiken: a hugely successful songwriter who has written number one hits for Christina Aguilera
Multi-platinum songwriter Shelly Peiken, who is already judging the songwriting competition, will mentor and critique one lucky entrant this year
rganisers of The UK Songwriting Contest have announced that multi-platinum songwriter, and UKSC judge, Shelly Peiken will mentor and critique one lucky entrant this year. The winner’s personal one-to-one session with Peiken will be run via a Skype video call or, alternatively, a voice only telephone session.
Shelly Peiken is a hugely successful songwriter who has written number one hits for Christina Aguilera and has had her songs recorded by Meat Loaf, Miley Cyrus, Britney Spears, Ronan Keating, Backstreet Boys, Cher, Gladys Knight, Gloria Gaynor, Jessie J, Ed Sheeran, NSYNC and many others. She has also had hundreds of songs placed on albums and in TV and films.
Other prizes this year include the opportunity to work with, and be mentored by, the legendary British producer Stuart Epps and join the Epps Music Productions stable of songwriters and artists. Stuart Epps has worked closely with some of the biggest names and most famous songwriters in the business such as Elton John, Oasis, Robbie Williams, Led Zeppelin, George Harrison and more.
There will be 17 winners across the song categories: Pop, Lyrics Only, Singer/Songwriter, Rock, Adult Contemporary, Love Songs, Acoustic & Folk, Under 18s, Music Videos, Jazz & Blues, Country, Christian/Faith, R&B/HipHop/Rap, Instrumental, Open/Other Category, Electronic/Dance/Ambient and Christmas Songs.
The UK Songwriting Contest was launched in London in 2002 in association with The BRIT Trust, The BRIT School, The BRIT Studio, Music Aid International, and The Guild of International Songwriters and Composers.
