Neil Diamond celebrates ’50’
The prolific songwriter celebrates his 50-year career by releasing a three-CD 50th anniversary collection to accompany his upcoming world tour
Universal Music Enterprises and Capitol Music Group have announced the release of Neil Diamond 50 – The 50th Anniversary Collection. The three-CD package will include 50 songs that range the half-century of Diamond’s career, handpicked under the supervision of the legendary songwriter himself and accompanied by a curated booklet with new liner notes.
Diamond has sold over 130 million albums worldwide and has dominated the charts for more than five decades with 37 Top 40 singles and 16 Top 10 albums. He has achieved record sales with 40 gold albums, 21 platinum albums and 11 multi-platinum albums.
Before becoming one of the world’s most successful recording artists, Diamond’s early recognition came as a songwriter, penning a number of Top 20 Hits for artists such as The Monkeys, Jay & The Americans and British singer Lulu.
A Grammy Award-winning artist, Diamond is a member of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, the Songwriters Hall of Fame and a recipient of the Sammy Cahn Lifetime Achievement Award, one of the highest honors bestowed upon songwriters.
Live Nation recently announced that Neil Diamond will also celebrate his career spanning 50 years with an upcoming 50th Anniversary Tour that begins in Fresno, California on 7 April, as well as newly announced dates in the UK and Europe.
