Belgian veterans dish up a slice of the good life on the new single from their latest album ‘Following Sea’
xperimental veterans dEUS, from Antwerp, were once a band who released an entire 13-song album as one track. However, these days they deal in more straight-ahead indie-rock. Arriving just in time for a predicted Indian summer (predicted by this naïve optimist anyway) is the new single from their Following Sea LP.That single is The Soft Fall, in which an irresistible melody skates over choppy strings and contains the type of life-affirming lyric that fills the listener with wanderlust. “This is what the good life is,” assures the hook. And if that’s the case, this must be its soundtrack.
Verdict: Life affirming indie-rock bliss
