This rising teen talent is shining a light on her Country influences in this toe-tapping anthem. It’s hard to believe that this voice is only 15 such is the maturity in her delivery and songwriting. Tegan is well on her way to becoming a household name and if she keeps releasing standout tracks such as this one then she will soon be a global superstar. LK

Soon returning with their first album in five years, this new single from Dan Auerbach and Patrick Carney suggests that the duo have gone back to basics. It’s bluesy rock that can stand up against the early material while also continuing the slightly more melodic nature of their recent work. DH

HUNTER PHELPS

Old school Country vibes are evident in this anthem track from Hunter. It has that party vibe reminiscent with the track title and he has weaved together that classic style with a modern twist with ease. Roll your windows down and blast this one out, it’s a song for Summer road trips and good times. LK

In order to stop the corrosive effect of human evolution, Edinburgh’s Neil Scott Pennycook sheds his skin and returns to the sea. Whether or not it’s enough to save the world remains to be seen, but like a more industrial Frightened Rabbit, it’s provocative and stirring stuff. DH

TOM HANNAY
THE FEEDING HAND

This track blends together Tom’s rough, silky raw vocal tone to create a timeless Country-Rock anthem. It has that smooth vibe of alternative country and smokey blues combined with a rock twist and is an absolute storm of a track reminiscent of artists from Kurt Vile to The Band. Tom is an exciting talent and this single showcases his vocal range perfectly. LK
