TRICERATOPS BY SHANE COOLEY
Espousing the virtues of everyone’s favourite three-horned dinosaur, Shane Cooley’s latest ditty will pull a smile on your face this morning. While listening, we suggest plodding around your house pretending to be a Triceratops.

THE BELL BY EMILY BREEZE
A snarling indie-rock love song to nights spent in the local pub after you only meant to stop in for one quick pint, The Bell is the latest drop to quench our thirst ahead of Emily Breeze’s upcoming album Rapture.

THIS TIME OF YEAR BY ELLEN KRAUSS
This Time Of Year by Ellen Krauss is for all those who don’t quite fit in during the Christmas period. A yearning and poignant outpouring, the song’s emotional quality hits you right in the heart. It’s another cracker from the Swedish singer-songwriter.

OVER IT NOW BY THE VELVET HANDS
Opening with a lick to make Nick Valensi proud, Over It Now is the latest offering from indie rockers The Velvet Hands. The laidback groove is a fitting abode for a song that encourages you to get out of the grind and do things your own way.

IT’S BEEN A YEAR BY ASHLEY COOKE
“It’s been three hundred sixty-five of record lows and record highs” sings Ashley Cooke on It’s Been A Year. A co-write with Brett Tyler and Will Weatherly, this heartfelt country ballad is an homage to sacrifice and perseverance.

THIS HOUSE BY SIOBHÁN WINIFRED
We’ve all experienced that gut-wrenching moment where we realise an ex has moved on with someone else. That hurt fuels This House, the captivating new single from Siobhán Winifred. Its understated production can’t contain the heartache.

Nieve Ella

Nieve Ella: has the ability to capture the personal in a universal way

GLASSHOUSES BY NIEVE ELLA
Armed with little more than an acoustic guitar and subtly powerful background ambience, Nieve Ella’s Glasshouses is loaded with emotion. It’s clear this developing talent already has the ability to capture the personal in a universal way.

A LITTLE CHRISTMAS OF MY OWN BY NICKI WELLS
We’re kicking off our week of festive tunes with a moment of poignancy courtesy of singer-songwriter Nicki Wells. A Little Christmas Of My Own is a piano ballad that adeptly captures the solitude many experience at this time of year.

I LOVE CHRISTMASTIME BY THE GLEEMAN
Up next is I Love Christmastime by Cornish singer-songwriter The Gleeman. Wrapping up the festive experience in one neat parcel, this cracker touches on everything from Salvation Army bands to leaving out mince pies for Santa – delicious!

CHRISTMAS EVE BY SETH SWIRSKY
Christmas Eve is exactly the kind of festive romp we’d expect from master of melody and guru of good times Seth Swirsky. With a distinct Beach Boys flavour to it, this song will warm the cockles of even the biggest Grinch out there.

DIE HARD (IS A CHRISTMAS FILM) BY LITANY
You might disagree with the titular premise of Die Hard (Is A Christmas Film) – for the record, it clearly is – but one thing you can be certain of is that Litany has come up with a lyrically deft and cinematic alt-pop masterpiece.

GROOVY XMAS BY THE LINDA LINDAS
We’re signing off 2022 with this punk banger from Los Angeles’ The Linda Lindas. Perhaps our favourite song of the season, it should be a mainstay of every party. Play it loud, twirl your tinsel in the air, dance hard and have yourselves a very Groovy Xmas.
