Good and bad news for Brian Wilson fans in Britain: the September tour’s off but he’ll be back next year
each Boys legend Brian Wilson has announced that his planned UK tour, which was to take place this September, has had to be postponed. But the good news is, he’ll be undertaking a UK and European tour next year instead.
Wilson was due to play shows in Liverpool, Cardiff, London, Birmingham, Nottingham, Leeds, Manchester and Glasgow, in support of his recent album No Pier Pressure. However, the success of the biopic Love & Mercy in the US has meant that “Brian has had to postpone his current UK tour, planned for September 2015, due to commitments in the US,” according to a statement sent to the Yorkshire Evening Post.
The same statement then quotes Wilson as saying: “I’m sorry I won’t be able to make these shows this year, but I look forward to seeing all my fans in 2016 to help me celebrate 50 years of Pet Sounds. This will be my final European tour.”
In the meantime, the Love & Mercy biopic opens in the UK on 10 July.
