Daft Punk have made a film for Nile Rodgers’ band Chic that will accompany their as yet untitled upcoming album
aft Punk have made a film about the forthcoming Chic album. The leader of Chic, Nile Rodgers, helped the masked French duo with their Grammy-winning 2013 album Random Access Memories – most notably with summer anthem Get Lucky – and has now revealed on Twitter that the duo have returned the favour by making a “touching” film to accompany Chic’s own new album. Rodgers said the film would be released within the next few weeks and also tweeted a still image from it. This one, to be precise…
Chic’s new album will be the band’s first in 23 years, with Rodgers revealing on his website that the first single will be out on 20 March. A-side I’ll Be There is a song that Rodgers wrote about finding his Chic partner Bernard Edwards dead in 1996, while Back In The Old School is about the disco movement of which Chic formed such an integral part in the 1970s.
The yet to be named album will be released in June through Warner Brothers Records.
