T Bone Burnett, Gillian Welch, and David Rawlings all are honored at a very special edition of Music City Roots

Legendary record producer and songwriter T Bone Burnett and noted roots pair Gillian Welch, and David Rawlings were all thankful to Music City Roots, after the variety weekly music broadcast from the Factory in Franklin named them American Master Award winners.

Presented by Berklee College of Music, the American Master Award is given to industry leaders who have made a positive impact on the lives of young musicians. It recognises that through their openness, generosity and deep commitment to music education, T Bone Burnett, Gillian Welch, and David Rawlings have provided young performers the opportunity to grow as artists and leaders.

All three musicians accepted their awards with a performance. Welch and Rawlings played songs such as The Way It Goes and Look At Miss Ohio together, before Burnett joined them for a rendition of Everything Is Free. You can catch them performing Everything Is Free below.
