The Assist: vibrant and melodic

These youthful Midlanders have mastered the indie sound to produce a superb single that is chirpy, danceable and effortlessly infectious

The AssistThe Assist are a four-piece indie band hailing from Walsall in the West Midlands. The lads have already played support slots for The Happy Mondays and The Jam legend Bruce Foxton. Their music is vibrant and melodic, making every song a sing along anthem.

Latest single Things Get Good takes the infectious side of The Kooks and marries it with the danceable elements of Reverend & The Makers; the song will have you shuffling from the off.

The Assist have real songwriting prowess and could well be the best band to emerge from the Midlands since The Enemy.

Verdict: Chirpy indie-pop that’s lots of fun and well worth a listen
