Today we bring you lucky people a delicate, lovely, and bittersweet indie-folk track by an absolutely brilliant songwriter from Shetland

Toni Sidgwick is originally from Shetland Islands, which are found on far North Coast of Scotland, UK. After taking her music to the streets of Edinburgh, she’s honed her sound and brings you a perfect example of it in today’s exclusive track.

Titled Try, Sidgwick sums up the song like this: “The track is about truly wanting to be there for someone but in the end they have to take control for there to be a change. Coming from Shetland, the sea and wind play a big part in my songwriting, in Try they represent struggle and comfort in the same breath.”

Continuing: “In the music I tried to portray a feeling of never giving up with an underlying sense of hope. When I listen to music I love the tracks I can relate to in some way and I hope that folk can do that with this song.”

She’s been likened to Tracy Chapman, Ben Howard, and Vance Joy, but is she like any of them? Don’t ask us; listen below and find out for yourselves…
