Today we have the great pleasure of bringing you an exclusive from a songwriter who should need absolutely no introduction

He’s an “iconic recording artist, producer and musical innovator.” Well, that’s certainly what we think. Today’s exclusive comes from the brilliant Todd Rundgren and features the stellar talents of Trent Reznor & Atticus Ross, of Nine Inch Nails fame.

With six decades in the music game to his name, there’s so much to chose from when speaking of Rundgren that we could spend all day talking about him. Instead, we’re going to talk about today’s exclusive track, Deaf Ears.

Featuring the aforementioned Reznor & Ross, Deaf Ears throbs and hums in PBR&B fashion. An array of instruments and effects form a foreboding sound pastiche, with Reznor’s influence felt on the jarring electronic darts which punctuate the song.

When asked for his thoughts on the video for Deaf Ears, Rundgren said: “It’s been a while since I’ve made a video. If I’d realised how much easier it’s become I might have produced more. Now that I’ve got one under my belt I’m anxious to get back into it.”

Rundgren hasn’t just limited his work with Reznor to this song. He teamed up with the Nine Inch Nails frontman for his upcoming album, White Knight, and described him as having sent him an “embarrassment of riches” to work with.
